Norwalk Green Living Properties
2025

Life partners, parents, and business co-owners, Brad and Tracy Craighead are the founders and operators of Norwalk Green Living Properties, a development company specializing in high-end, leased residential properties.

With a shared passion for the arts, garden design and American history, the Craigheads bought their first historic building in the early 90’s with the intent to renovate and convert it into a rental property. As it turns out, they still own and now live full-time in that 1720 Dutch colonial home, located in Westchester County.

The culmination of synergistic interests became the inspiration and vision for their development business almost two decades later. Their first renovation project led Tracy to earn a degree in Interior Design from Parsons in NYC, adding credentials to her professional background in advertising and marketing alongside her serious creative work in photography.

Brad’s career in finance took them to London in 1999, where they raised their two daughters until 2013 when they returned to the US. While living abroad, their constant travels fueled their growing interest in architecture and design which led to another historic home renovation, this time in central London.

Upon returning to the States, Brad set out to begin a second career and started to acquire a number of historic homes in Norwalk, CT. Seeing the potential to revitalize a neighborhood in the city’s downtown, he focused his efforts on developing these properties and founded the Norwalk Green Association to build community and promote the historic area surrounding the iconic Green.

Influenced by their years of living in the UK, the properties exhibit a unique combination of traditional New England architecture with classically designed elements coupled with dedicated outdoor space and professionally landscaped gardens. The apartments’ signature characteristics are high ceilings with abundant natural light, appealing to a demographic that seeks privacy and a very high standard for quality detail and elegant finishes.

With 8 completed properties and a current portfolio of 6 leased buildings located on and around The Green, the Craigheads have also focused on building community through The Norwalk Green and City Hall Neighborhood Associations.

Constantly promoting pedestrian safety and raising awareness around important environmental causes, Brad recently joined the Board of the Sustainable Streets movement and is a supporter of Norwalk Preservation Trust, the Norwalk Historical Society and the Great Norwalk Chamber of Commerce.

Tracy continues her work in the Arts and as a local community leader, she is the current Chair of the Norwalk Earth Day Festival, an annual event centered on the Norwalk Green. Other community-oriented initiatives for the Craigheads have included spearheading the opposition to O&G’s application to re-open an industrial plant on the Norwalk River (2024); co-organizing Gratitude on the Green (2021-23); inspiring local Dog Parades and supporting the seasonal Farmer’s Market on The Green.
